Chuck Roy opened Cass Café in 1993 after falling in love with the Cass Corridor neighborhood while studying at Wayne State University. With the help of Detroit Development Fund and the Michigan Saves program, Mr. Roy is currently rehabbing the restaurant – replacing the roof, HVAC units, lighting and windows. These upgrades are projected to save at least 25% in utility costs a year.
